National Geographic featured this hotel in Tours of a Lifetime. The hotel is not bad, but certainly not luxurious or memorable. It is however the best hotel available in the area. And as this is a must see area when visiting Costa Rica, we decided to mention it as the place to stay when here. The rooms look much nicer on the photos on the Internet than in real life. Stayed here for 1 night, could imagine staying 2 but that would be the absolute maximum. The hotel does have a butterfly garden, something the children loved!
Cloud forests are typically cooler than rainforests because they can be found at higher elevations. Monteverde is such a cloud forest and will be cooler than other spots in Costa Rica due to its elevation (1,400 meters above sea level), so even in the dry season, the temperature will be lower.
